Enter nutrient amounts

You can enter nutrient amounts for ingredients, but not recipes or menu items. This is because Fillet automatically calculates nutrition information for recipes and menu items.

For ingredients, you can enter amounts for all nutrients, or you can enter amounts only for the nutrients that you want to use. If you don't enter an amount for a nutrient, you will see the message "No data" when viewing nutrition information.

Important: “No data" means that there is no data entered for that particular nutrient. It does not mean that the nutrient amount equals zero (0).

Automatic calculation of nutrition information

Fillet automatically calculates nutrition information for recipes and menu items using their components' nutrition information.

  • For recipes, components can be ingredients and other recipes (sub-recipes).
  • For menu items, components can be ingredients and recipes.
Important: For recipes and menu items, “No data" means that none of the components have any amounts entered for that particular nutrient. It does not mean that the nutrient amount equals zero (0). Since there are no amounts, there is "No data" for that nutrient in the selected recipe or menu item.
